Delighting with effortless content discovery

As the Director of UX, I lead the StumbleUpon’s iOS and Android app redesigns in 2015. To support the redesign and ongoing app improvements, I recruited and hired four designers to augment the existing team of two product designers. I personally contributed flow charts, animations, and mock ups for the apps, and conducted in-person and remote usability tests to inform design iteration. By directly surveying the Stumblers, the redesigned iOS app indexed at 51 NPS and garnered a customer satisfaction top-2 box rating of 92.3%.

I collaborated with Asher Blumberg, a design team member, on this blog post for Invision. The post highlights how we balanced native design for two platforms, Android and iOS, adhering to a consistent look and feel.

Following are examples of the personas, an example user flow, and before and after screens of the iOS app. I was the primary researcher, art director, and interaction lead on the app redesigns.
